***WARNING: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS***

"We Will Rock You" is the Olivier Award-winning musical that is featured on the Anthem of the Seas. This show stars the very same talented cast that was in "The Gift." "We Will Rock" is a story of a dystopian future where individuality is outlawed and everyone has no choice but to follow a the boring leadership of an evolved computer program that has managed to force it's way into taking over it's programmer's body. This program is now the leader of the world and had outlawed anything that comes close to old Rock and Roll. It's up to an unlikely hero and a "band" (pun intended) of resistance fighters to seize the day and find the almighty ax (guitar) to help bring back the soul of Rock.

That was the best way I could describe this musical without spoiling the who show. I just want to go on record that I did really enjoy this show. I was already a fan of the cast based on how they performed in "The Gift," but I did have some issues with it.

I have been a life long fan of Queen and I loved how the music was pretty much a character in itself and how the soul of Freddy Mercury was captured by the cast. I loved how they named the characters of the resistance fighters. For example, the tough muscle bound man of the group named himself Britney Spears (Brit for short). It was funny due to the characters not really knowing who these people were that they named themselves after. They only knew that at one point in time, they were a big deal.

Again, I could not find any information on who made up the actual cast. But I felt that the actor who played the lead, Galileo, had a great voice and was very talented but was miscast. I felt that the actor who played Brit had a better voice that would have captured Freddy Mercury's voice and style better for songs like "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Will Rock You". I understand why he was cast as Brit due to his size and presence. The actual actor who played Galileo, our hero, missed many of the notes that Freddy Mercury made great. Voice-wise, Brit was the better choice.

I enjoyed the music but I feel that they missed out on having another great Queen song in the production. "Princes of the Universe" has always been one of my favorite Queen songs. It's not just because it was the theme for the old movie and series Highlander, but it's just a great song and it's very powerful. This musical was the perfect place to highlight it and it was skipped over.

Some of the songs featured in "We Will Rock You" are:

I WANT TO BREAK FREE

CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE

WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER

FLASH

DON'T STOP ME NOW

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST

WE WILL ROCK YOU

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY

All in all this was a very entertaining show and I didn't want to leave. There was a point we almost did because of my daughter, she was tired. But she ended up being okay and we stayed and I was happy that we did. "Bohemian Rhapsody" was a great way to end the show. I recommend seeing "We Will Rock You" if you can. I give the show a 3.5 out of 5 stars only because I feel they would benefit from reshuffling the cast a bit.
