The House starts as a story about Scott and Kate Johansen who look to send their daughter Alex to college. Their town sponsored a scholarship each year which Alex had won. This would allow Scott and Kate to send Alex to any school of her choosing. City councilman Bob, gives the Johansen's the unfortunate news that the scholarship is being reabsorbed into the city budget in order to pay for the new town pool. Little do the Johansen's know, Bob is stealing city funds in order to finance an affair he is having with Dawn who also works for the city government.

Here we meet Frank, a close friend of the Johansen's who is now going through a divorce with his wife due to his gambling habit. With Frank at risk of loosing his life and his wife and the the Johansen's need to send their daughter to the school of her dreams, they decide to open an illegal casino in Frank's house.

This movie is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Just with each circumstance that these characters must go through sets up a hilarious roller-coaster of bringing a good wholesome family and turning them into feared kingpins. Scott becomes the muscle of the three and is transformation is hilarious.

I do want to give notice to one of my favorite comedians who was featured in make shift comedy club of the casino. Sebastian Maniscalco did a great job in the film and I felt that he was one of the funniest parts of the movie. He brought his physical comedy to the screen and they way they portrayed it in the film was just hilarious.

Everyone involved did a great effort in making this movie great. I truly believe that The House will go down as a comedy classic. With the likes of Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Jason Mantzoukas and Nick Kroll all in one movie, how could it not be hilarious. I give The House 4 out of 5 stars.
